Women in Tech® Global Summit: HERoes Shaping Tomorrow

The Women in Tech Global Summit is a 3-day event happening on the 30th, 31st May and 1st June 2022 under the High Patronage of Ms. Elisabeth Moreno, French Minister for Gender Equality, Diversity and Equal Opportunities. The theme ‘HERoes Shaping tomorrow’, celebrates women across the world who are the Shakers, Makers and Innovators of our new society and economy. The Summit will kick off in Paris on Monday 30th for 3 days of content. Its aim is to inform, inspire and catalyze collective efforts to reduce the gender and digital gap in STEM by 2030.

The first day will begin with leadership and Tech Trends workshops and will be followed by high level peer-to-peer sessions and hard-problem solving roundtables where participants will engage more closely to share knowledge, define common projects and set-up a roadmap driving accountability. On May 31st, the main conference will take place with a rich program including inspiring plenary sessions, keynotes and a gala dinner. The third day will be dedicated to technical visits and business to business meetings. Our ambition is to have deliberations by the end of the summit which will be implemented worldwide with measurable impact.

The event will gather aproximately 300 delegates: thought leaders from business, civil society, Government and the Arts, representing 30 different countries – the Makers, Shakers, and Innovators of a new era, driven by the desire to change the status quo. The HERoes who are shaping tomorrow. Speakers include Dr Vjosa Osmani, President of Kosovo, Zarifa Ghafari, the youngest mayor of Afghanistan and Marcos Pontes, Brazil’s first astronaut and current Minister of Science Innovation and Technology.

Dr. Christyl Johnson, Deputy Director for Technology and Research Investments at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., the Honorary President of the Summit, will be leading the Space panel where she will be discussing “Space Exploration – Opportunities for Equality, Empowerment, and Innovation”.

The Forum is going 100% online

Due to latest COVID restrictions in Sharjah (UAE), the Women in Technology Global Forum will be a full online event.

The second edition of the Women in Technology Global Forum will kick off at 03:00 pm in Sharjah (UTC +4). It will be a fully online event in order to expand the shared knowledge and experience beyond borders. Over 100 speakers from 5 different continents will participate in panels, present keynotes and animate workshops.

The Forum will focus on gender and diversity as well as tech trends. Sessions will debate on some of the major issues confronting women in STEM and explore how women are laying the ground to shape a stronger world after an unprecedented health, social and economic crisis.
H.E. Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park says: «Gender equality is important in all areas, but it is crucial in technology and innovation. We have to make sure that everyone participates in its creation.»

This event will create a space for leading experts to discuss how to best shape the future of innovation while achieving gender parity. Among them will be present internationally recognized figures such as Her Excellency Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for advanced Technologies and chairwoman of the UAE Space Agency, Gulser Corat, Director at UNESCO or Silvina Moschini, Co-founder and chairwoman of Transparent Business.

This new decade will be that of Impact and Action The UN Sustainable development has set 17 goals to transform our World by 2030. Goal#5 is to achieve gender equality and empower women and girls.
